THE SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children and families are very much part of our congregation and we seek to provide a safe environment where they can be nurtured and encouraged in the Christian Faith.

On Sunday during the 10:00 Solemn Mass, there is a Sunday School which takes place in the Vicarage and is led by Adults who have all been CRB checked according to Diocesan Regulations.  The younger people join us for the beginning of the Mass then leave before the Liturgy of Word and Homily. They rejoin their families for the Holy Communion and remainder of the Mass.

There is also a  Crèche in the Cloister that meet during the Mass. Access to the Vicarage is gained only through the Church and only parents and those appointed as Sunday School leaders are permitted to attend.

At this time children are not admitted to Holy Communion until they are Confirmed. This practice is under review, always taking into consideration the views of parents and the wider teaching and example of the Church. We welcome people of other Christian traditions to receive Holy Communion at Mass providing that are baptised and in good standing with their local Church.
